Endymion was the Prince of Earth and according to mythology, Selene saw Endymion tending his sheep and she drove her chariot across the sky and fell in love with Endymion… Then had an affair with him but he was mortal. Usagi also translates to Rabbit of the Moon, hence her name and the rabbit references in the manga.Īs Princess Serenity (a play off Selene), Usagi fell in love with Mamoru who’s past life name was Endymion. Her birthday is June 30th which makes her a Cancer (Water Sign) her ruling “planet” is Moon. Usagi Tsukino translates to the name Selene in Greek or Luna by the Romans. Oh and Naoko is Naoko Takeuchi - the creator of Sailor Moon. So now, lets begin - here’s what I’ve learned and I am truly fascinated. I decided to hunt around and look for info on this and found a few articles online that I would like to share it.
